Testing anything bad in water

Is there something to test if anything is bad in your query before you put your shrimp in our does the cycling take care of everything. Like let's say soap residue or chemicals

There really shouldn't be any soap residue unless you used it on the tank yourself. Avoiding most potential contaminants is one reason distilled water is recommended for this kind of tank where water changes are not usually done. Cycling takes care of the rest.

You don't need to make a new topic for every question by the way, just make a reply to one of your older topics.
