If it is glass and you rinsed it thoroughly with distilled water I think it would be ok. If it is plastic I would worry.
Oh wait, I think I read that wrong. Are you saying you used a 5 gallon plastic soy sauce bucket as a sink? Why would you not just use your sink? I'm confused, lol.

Yes I used a 5 gallon soy sauce bucket. I used distilled water to wash stuff in it and put the distilled water and the marine salt to mix it together

Should I do a complete water change? I’ll buy a new bucket?

Just follow the step by step guide on this site. Don’t need to worry about anything else! The more you try to do, the more you will mess it up. Simple is best. As for your decorations and holes, they’re fine. The shrimps will love a place to hide especially if they’re berried.

Also please do not make multiple threads asking different questions. If you just reply in your one thread it makes it easier for everybody instead of bumping all the other threads down. Thanks.

This is true but the issue right now is the soap he used and if its going to cause problems later.Nellyville41 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 04, 2018 7:29 am Just follow the step by step guide on this site. Dunno about the soap issue. I wouldn’t use a sauce container as a tank to begin with. Lol. For my 1 gal I used an old beta fish tank that was given to me. Just cleaned that out with vinegar to get rid of the hard water spots and then rinsed it out with water and then DI water

Yea I should have listened to myself and not my friends lol well I bought a new bucket and substrate if I need to start over. I just don’t know yet
Re: Hello Im New and would love your advice :)
If you rinsed the bucket well, it should be ok. Soy sauce isn't toxic or anything, it's mostly salt and organics. The most it can cause is a bacterial bloom. You don't need to rinse with distilled water...you can just rinse with tap water and make sure to dump the tap water after you're done.
