Baby Opae ula poop too long

Post by Opaela »

I recently noticed that some of my opae ula baby shrimp tend to have very long poop. I've noticed the longest has about at least 15x-20x times of its body length. I also noticed some are even trapped and struggled to get out because the poop get entangled with volcanic rocks.

Is it normal or there's some issues with the algae in my tank to cause the digestion issue? Thanks! To be fair, not all of my baby shrimp are experiencing that. There are still a noticeable number of shrimp are with long poop.

The poop length can vary and seems to depend on what they are eating. Either way, your shrimp will be just fine.
