Shrimp dropping eggs-normal?

Post by kyle0901 »

Hi everyone, after years of waiting my shrimp finally started to berry eggs, but it keeps dropping them as day goes by. It now has less than a half of what it had 3 days ago when I found it, about 10 eggs still loosely attached to the mother and they too seem really loose. Dropped eggs can be found on the bottom or random rocks. Is this normal? What should I do? Is this shrimp going to be successful in giving birth? Thanks!

Yup, perfectly normal. I don't think it's been proven why, but for some reason first time super shrimp moms often seem to drop many or all their eggs. They tend to do much better the next time they are carrying eggs.
