Second nano tank is up and running
Local rocks from the beach, jar and lid from IKEA. Indirect light all day, but I may add a little LED light in the future. Threw in 10 snails and 6 lucky shrimp from my other tank. 24 hours later all doing well!

Those are some super nice rocks! Is that large one some type of lava rock?

Re: Second nano tank is up and running
Thanks, Mustafa! I think the big rock is some kind of holey limestone-ish thing. It's from an area that has still has lots of seismic activity. Always tons of holey rocks on the beach along with volcanic glass and all kinds of interesting geological wonders. The smaller rocks are black lava rock from a lava field here in SoCal.
The shrimp are thriving! I'll add more as soon as some of the teeny ones from the last hatch grow up a bit.

Re: Second nano tank is up and running
It's maturing nicely and all the shrimp are big and happy. Very hard to spot all six at once since they really like crawling in the holey rock, but sometimes I get lucky. A new batch of tiny snails appeared seemingly overnight, so must be ok in there! I moved Big Mossball in a while back, and it hasn't changed much so I guess that's good too
I did add a small LED light on the top (cheap cabinet light from IKEA), but it was too intense and now I just turn it on sporadically at night.
No reproduction yet but fingers crossed for spring berries. Feeding a tiny amount once a month at most, just so I can count them

I think the "special day" is nearing.
