Floaters starting to swim!

Post by JoeG »

Update on the 16 floaters released August 31. I see half of them starting to swim horizontally today. Only took 19 days. They are still about the same size as the floaters that are still going vertically but these little guys are swimming horizontally and are walking on the glass and the rocks. Amazing! :D

Average is like 28 days but it depends somewhat on the water temperature. They mature faster in warmer water.

Dch48 I was thinking it was more like a month also but it has been only 20 days now and the rest are pretty much swimming horizontally. Temp definitely makes a difference. On another note I saw another batch that hatched yesterday and are clinging to their mom. They’ll probably be released today and tomorrow, and so it continues! :D
