How many shrimp?

I’m starting of with a 2 and a half gallon tank. What is a reasonable number of shrimp to start with? I’m planning on 10 snails, a fairly large lava rock and a number of small lave rocks. I also plan on a couple of good size coral chunks.

Anywhere between 10 to 30 works. The difference is just the number of shrimp you'll be able to observe at any given time. Over time the shrimp will reproduce, and in a few years it won't make any difference how many you started out with.
