Hello!
It's been a while since I've ventured onto this forum. I've had my Opae Ula since 2018 and, 7 and a half years later, I do believe it is time for a tank upgrade. I have a very healthy colony so I want to do this carefully, but it's time to go from plastic critter box to a beautiful glass display.
What is the best way to do this? There will be more water in the new display... I was going to match the salinity, move over the sand, plants, and decorations, then mix the water and finally add the shrimp. I saw someone write not to mix the water but that was an old post so I doubt I'll get a response there.
I am hoping to cycle a 2 gallon glass jar that looks like it's from an old candy store. The slight haziness I attributed to the water turned out to be wrong. I changed all the water and the slight haziness continues, but a small jar I have next to the big jar that has the same water, is crystal clear.
The glass itself must be the source of the haze. So, I suggest that you pay attention to the quality of the glass and get the clearest new upgrade that you can.
