I have a group of what appear to be Sri Lanka Algae Shrimp. They have the gold eyes and the marking on the sides just like the ones pictured in the varieties page, although these seem a bit more aggressive than other algae eating shrimp I've seen.
Anyways, I would like to get them to reproduce, but I have not seen any of them carrying eggs. Are there any obvious signs to distinguish males and females? What could I do to trigger their reproductive appetite?
Thanks,
Nion
How to get them in the mood?

While having no experience with this shrimp species, I would focus on having clean cycled water in the upper temperature limits for the species, ample food, and lots of dense coverage via rocks and plants. Certain species may need certain water chemistry parameters, but I'm not so great with that stuff.
