Last night i picked up some more cherry red shrimp from my LPS and introduced them to my shrimp tank make sure like allways fo not get any of the water in the tank from the bag. Icome home today to find EVERY shrimp, save one little one, dead, or just sitting there on their side twitching. Does anyone have any idea what could have caused this? THey were fine for a few months and now I have a ton of dead shrimp!!
it is a 20 gallon. i have found two dead ottos also. I moved all of the ones that are twitching still into a breeder net in my 55 gallon. is there any chance they might recover?
theres a chance...but not much i dont think...soryy to hear your loss, maybe you should find out what killed off your animals, i had it happen to me once too...all fish and shrimps dead...due to a Kh spike at first following closely with ammonia spike
well this morning when i took a look there were about 8 little ones grazing on the java moss so it looks like there were some survivors. The breeder net i had put all the ones that looked to be twiching had a few pull through over night as well. SO all in all it looks like i lost about 80%. Looks like i am just going to have to wait a few days and reintroduce those to the shrimp tank. I guess i am just going to have to watch out for some more and start over.
do a big water change maybe 30% to your shrimp tank, wait 10mins then test the water for all aspects such as, NH3,NO2,NO3,Kh,Gh,Kh if everything seems to be in check then stick the old guys into the tank
