New Shrimp Set-Up

Post by jambermush »

Hi, i'm hoping you guys may be able to give me some advice!

I've kept Amano & glass shrimps before, but am hoping to do something a bit different in a few months time.

I have an unused 3' tank, in which i'm looking to create a set-up purely for shrimp, with rock pools, caves, a waterfall linked to a filter & possibly even a mister.

What i am wondering is if anyone has any hints, experiences or advice about what to avoid doing, and what to include? Also, would i be better off sticking to one type of shrimp, or could you advise as to what shrimps are best being kept together?

I think you need to look into crafish rather than shrimp. This sort of arrangement doesn't sound like it would work for shrimp.

Spare the shrimp AND crayfish a painful death... sounds like a frog or newt setup to me. Read this please Shrimp are incredibly fun pets to keep and watch, I strongly recomend going with a normal tank setup, use a few bubble filters and fill it with moss and driftwood. In a terranium setup with pools you will never get a good view of your shrimps interesting activity.

sponge bob crabs? they are interesting guys, but need to goto the surface once in awhile to breath air. a three foot tank should be plenty big, maybe cherry shrimp? i hear they are easy to breed as well plus very colorful.
