I think looking at the Carapace is a good way to look for if the shrimps are adult. I had a young cherry(3-4months) that looked like a male, because its Carapace was smaller compared to the females. But after it molted its Carapace suddenly became more low hanging.

Thank you for the pics thgng! That's one beautiful mom shrimp, but I didnt know the dad is suppose to be that ugly.

I am sure they make beautiful babies! Is it possible for you to take a picture of the male from the Top?

I will try to take some photo of MALE.. Like me, they just won't sit still !!
I noticed that even the babies shrimp develop this colour charateristic even when there are a few week old.
Male - Pinkish white
Female - Darker Pink or Red
And yes, come to think of it... they do look like different species.
Especially the older female, they look a lot different...

Thank you for pictures once again. You finally caught the handsome father in the act.
From looking at those 2 pictures, I am pretty sure I dont have any males in the tank. Because they are all red.

I read that but it was at 0100 hrs ++ this morning and brain cells were definitely switched off eh ...
hehehehehehe .... my tank is always above that, so it doesn't matter then.
