So no local fishing license was required either? What locations did you collect in?

Any species that will be able to reproduce in total FW that you know of?


Sorry for all the questions. I usually travel to Puerto Rico once a year and have always wanted to collect while there.

I was informed that collection was permissible as long as the species I collected were either non-regulated or obtained (with owner consent) from private water bodies. Generic fishing licenses and shrimp-specific permits are readily available at reasonable cost (see the link I provided on the first page) to non-residents, though certain cases (outlined in said link) may see exemption from their requirement. Of the species I encountered, I believe only the Palaemonid ghost shrimp reproduces in full FW.
