Penguin Reverse Flow Kit

Post by badflash »

I just bought a Penguin Reverse Flow Kit and power heads for my tanks. These things are working so much better than my bubblers or my modified side filer that was sucking on my gravel. If you are new to this, or don't know what a reverse flow filter is, check it out.

There is a large foam filter with a power head that sits on top of it. The power head blows into the gravel filter. This keeps food and waste suspended until it gets sucked into the foam filter. Flow is very gentle so it doesn't stress out the shrimp. Best of all, the shrimp graze on the filter and keep it pretty clean.

Mustafa, am I allowed to say where I got mine? I got a good deal and they shipped fast. $6.29 for the reverse flow kit and $15.99 for the Penguin 550 Powerhead. Shipping was under $10 for a set of 3 each.

Reverse Flow Filter

No problem. I just got 3 more for the same deal. I'll be glad to share info to anyone that wants to know privately. I'm using 2 filters per tank. The shrimp love these things and spend most of their time on them. The 1st batch of shrimp I got are finally coloring up and several female now have the yellow saddles. Babies can't be far off!

The pregnant AZgardneds shrimp died.
