Thanks for the 10 healthy shrimp Mustafa, little as they are they are, they already got a little pink after only a couple of hours. When I see them that is....as noted, 10 juvie shrimp in a 46 gallon are elusive.
They are smaller than I expected so I'm not sure if they will be safe from the kuhli loaches I was going to move on Saturday. The shrimps are about a 1/4 inch long and pretty narrow, afraid they will go down the kuhli's hatch as easy as blackworms. Opinions anyone?
How long before they double their size? My amano's took only a couple of weeks and moulted every 3-4 days. Do cherry's do the same?

Glad you received them. Yes, they will grow very quickly. In a few weeks you will see the yellow eggs in their ovaries and not long after that they should be carrying eggs, i.e. they will be young adults in no time really if the conditions are right. I'd wait a week or two for the loach move unless your tank is really heavily planted so the shrimp can hide from potential predation.

LOL, since the first day the only evidence the shrimp exist is a shed on one plant. I haven't seen hide nor antenna of them otherwise. Do they like fast moving water? I ask because this #$%^*&! Seaclear has jet filter outputs an inch from the bottom of the tank in the middle. If they like very fast current they are probably back behind the rocks having a fun time but where I cannot see them.
FYI, Never buy a Seaclear II for a freshwater planted aquarium, not noted in specs and not evident in online pics is a filter problem - several filter outputs below level you need for substrate to plant. Totally ruined my tank design, currently trying to figure out how to fix.

the shrimps I see are now nearly half an inch and have good color. So far I have never seen more than 3 at a time and they have their own territories. I thought they liked to hang out together, but so far, not. I'm still hoping more of the 10 made it but kinda doubt it at this point.
BTW, if they hate fast moving water why does one of them go to the back where the filter out-take is pushing fast moving water? It climbs the back of the tank and then drops down in the current a couple of times a day. I call him Airlift, seems to enjoy the ride

If you have a lot of plants in the tank you might just not be seeing all of them. They hide very well after all. You can judge by their behavior if they are feeling well in your tank or not. The general rule is that a happy shrimp is a picking shrimp. If the shrimp is not picking, there is either something wrong or it's about to molt.
