Cherry red shrimps and its vibrant color

Post by Cajunspice »

looking at my tank, I sometimes see shrimps that are almost colorless. Though I know they'll eventually get more red, it wouldn't be as red as those that are born red.

How many vibrant red female or males do I have to introduce to the tank in order to slowly get rid of the clear looking shrimps? or does this involve the food given to them?

The clear ones are likely males that never get much color. The females get much more red with age and especially when they are ready to breed.

If you want to breed for color you need to isolate the reddest shrimp in another tank, not add more shrimp.
