Bristlenoise Pleco compatible with Red cherry shrimp?
I'm just wondering if bristlenoise pleco do well with cherry shrimp. I read some type of pleco are bad for shrimps.

Some species of pleco, for example various Hypancistrus sp. seem to eat more meaty stuff than other plecos. So, some people warn that they *might* eat shrimp babies. However, I have yet to hear any reliable reports of that happening.tim911 wrote:I read some type of pleco are bad for shrimps.
Bristlenose plecos are absolutely harmless as tank mates. I have one in my 55 gallon. It's over 6 years years old and is a the only fish left in that tank.

What I was implying with "I have yet to hear any reliable reports" in my posting above is that any pleco *should* be fine, although I have obviously not kept all the pleco species and hence can't guarantee that some of the ones with a more meaty natural diet won't grab a baby shrimp or two if they have a chance. The zebra pleco (L-46) is a Hypancistrus with a more meaty diet. So draw your conclusions.
