Need help: Acclimating new born shrimp

Post by milalic »

I received some Diamond shrimp and it seems one of the females was pregnant and had babies in transit. I have around 20 of them in the breather bag. How would you acclimate them?

Thanks for the suggestions

I've not kept Diamond Shrimp, but I think they are like Bee shrimp. You need do nothing special. The little guys are really tough. Just make sure your aquarium has the right water parameters for the shrimp, let the water temps equalize & put them in. A pinch of food is welcome, but just a pinch. Don't over feed. Bee babies need soft acidic water to survive. Adults can live in alkaline water, but not the babies.

Sounds like you got a real bonus!

I believe Diamond shrimp and bee shrimp are the same species, I'm not exactly sure but from what I see and read they are the same
