Post by Shrimp&Snails »

With flash...a coloured up shrimpy.

Without flash (the subsrate is actually white)....one of my new paler cherries, sharing an algae wafer with a trumpet snail.

I love watching these guys scoot around my tank. They were a bit scared at first and hid away in my plants a lot....but now they are quite happy to come out of their hiding places. :D

You said the gravel was white? :D

Your camera might have a setting which takes into account the use of fluorescent lighting. That can help get the colors to look better. I've been playing around a lot lately with very basic photo editing software (just the free stuff that comes with windows XP) trying to figure out how to make my photos better so I practiced with your photo.

I love your mossy carpet in the first shot. I am going to be trying to get some java moss to do that.

Your camera should have settings for different types of light. You need to play around with this setting to get true colors.

I hope you took the algae disk out after the pic.... way too much food.

With shrimp it's better to feed less than more.

How many shrimp are you feeding in that tank?

The algae wafer is tiny (although it looks huge in the pic) and was soon swarmed over by snails....no-one gets to eat for long with my apple snails. I have eight cherries, a male bn plec, apple snails, 4 nerites and some baby ramshorns.
They are Tetra Pleco Wafers and are probably 1cm across and I feed the tank 2-3 times a week.

The moss carpet is one of my moss balls.

Hey thanks for fixing my photo YuccaPatrol that looks so much better. :D Will you please send me the link so I can fix my others.

Cheers
