How to tell hybrids from true breds

Post by soniacbt »

Is there a way to tell hybrids from true breds?. I've successfully bred cherry shrimps and am keen to try bee or tiger shrimps. My concern after reading thru the posts, is that if the lfs are selling hybrids, they might not breed. ie F1 are infertile. What can I do?.

Best thing to do is buy from a reputable breeder who specializes in these species rather than a local fish store that just sells whatever the wholesaler sends them.

you can also visit the "Shrimp Varieties" section and compare the shrimp to these pics of the true shrimps. And it is also a great way to learn about the different shrimps.
