Hey,
I found a great site on-line for breeding amano shrimp...others have complained of it being too complex I suppose, but for me it really takes away a lot of mysteries about raising larval hatchling shrimp.

Yes, I found that one too. I'll be using it as my guide when I try to raise those mystery shrimp. If you go to this page on the same site, you'll see that it looks he has the same shrimp! He doesn't know what they are either.
Hey Amanda
I've posted pics of them in this thread. I've only had them since mid-September, and one was carrying eggs when I got them. She dropped the eggs last week, but I wasn't sure they would need brackish water to survive. In any event, I wasn't prepared, so I just left them in the aquarium. Obviously, none of the larvae survived. They probably lasted about 5 days.
I've got two more carrying eggs already!
Colour-wise, they were all brownish when I got them, and were all blue the next day. Since then, they've all been different colours. I usually see them being either pale beige (almost white) and reddish.
I don't know what this means, but the first pregnant shrimp was carrying pale eggs, and one of the ones pregnant now is carrying pale eggs, but the other one's eggs are red. She's been carrying for about a week now, so I think they're viable. I guess we'll see...
