just went down to a garden center's pet department and saw a tank with some shrimp and i wanted it so i got one not too shure on what kind of shrimp it is, think it is some type of Macrobrachium not too shure its my first long arm shrimpie it is cool ot too shure on how to sex it think it is female not too shure as it is different to te pics on shrimp verieties pages http://img249.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... 034mm6.jpg

This looks to be a young M. Rosenbergii or related species. They need about 10 gallons per shrimp. Females get along pretty well together as long as there are good hides. There can only be 1 alpha male per tank. Until they go blueclaw, they are very hard to sex.
This one could be a female, but it may also be an orange claw sub dominant male.
They like warm water, hard and basic. They eat anything, including most tank mates. I found endlers can out breed the losses.
