hi just a quick question, or two, how many shrimp does it take to start off a colony? i had one berried red cherry, i bought her because she seemed lonely in a tank on her own, now she's had babies and they're starting to get berried, whic leads to my next question do shrimp suffer from inbreeding? and should i be worried about it?
any insight greatly recieved.

It is often suggested that you start with 10 young shrimp. This way you will have good odds of have both males and females. However, if you have one berried female. That one shrimp is all you need to start a colony. Shrimp don't suffer from inbreeding so it's nothing to worry about.
