Re: Larvae picture
Very cool. How long did you have yours before they started breeding?

Re: Larvae picture
I think the long answer is necessary. I got the shrimp in november 2008 and found my first larvae in march 2010. Found more in July 2010. From October 2011 to now there have been larvae and or berried females at all times. At one time I counted 40 larvae floating about. It is not unusual to see 20 larvae and 3 berried shrimp at any given time.
How do I account for my success since 10/11. I stopped changing things. Stopped changing light duration, kept temperature at room temps. and turned off heater, severely reduced air flow rate and now tuned it off (air bubbles cause salt creep, yuck), reduced feedings to even less than every two weeks, kept salinity constant at 1.011 (reduced it to 1.006 why? I read too much).

That's terriffic! How many shrimp did you start off with in November 2008? What size tank are they in?

150 shrimp in a ten gallon tank. Now I have no idea how many, 400-500?

Great picture!
Just two weeks ago I observed a record number of larvae in one tank (20 gallon tank). I saw about 150-200 larvae all floating around, really an awesome sight. That's about 10-15 females releasing larvae all within a one to two week timeframe! That may not sound like a lot of females, but that's quite a number for Supershrimp.
