Food fights
I find these "supershrimp" much more active and interesting than freshwater shrimp. From time to time, I feed them some Artisan Shrimp Crumble, which I also feed my freshwater shrimp. I feed very sparingly, by breaking off a piece no larger than the head of a pin. Once in the water, the little crumb expands a bit. I find that they notice it quickly and one will usually grab it and hold on while feeding. Others will come to get it and the one with the "ball" will swim away. Others will follow and grab it away. It's like watching a supershrimp football game.

Mine too! It seems like the one with the ball is saying, Mine! Mine! All Mine! Till the others discover it then it's tug-of-war time.
Re: Food fights
I feed my shrimp the green algae powder. What's funny is that one will eat, float down to the bottom, and communicate with the others. They will then start zipping around the bottom with a lot of energy. Most of the time, they will start fighting each other on the bottom of the ecosphere. Size does not matter as they will just start going into a riot and attacking each other. After a couple minutes of fighting, almost all of the shrimp will swim to the top and start feeding. After about 30 minutes to an hour of eating, they pretty much start doing victory laps. They will swim in circles in the ecosphere for about 30 minutes, poop some, then float to the bottom and start picking at the sand and algae rock.

Hey "yoster",
They don't really communicate with each other. They are very opportunistic actually and would love to just take all the food for themselves. What is happening is that the others have excellent olfactory organs, so they smell the food and rush towards it. Also, I would not call the containers "ecosphere" as 1. that's trademarked by a company 2. you do not want to promote those types of fully sealed containers that are being misrepresented as "habitats." See the Supershrimp pages on this website for more information.

The one I have is around half a gallon with about a 2 inch opening at the top. This is definitely not the slow kill types that company is selling.
Re: Food fights
I know you don't have an ecosphere. That's why I was saying that it's probably not a good idea to call it that way.
Just call it a "tank" and be done with it.
