Prefilter question

Hi everyone, I am looking for a suggestion on what to use for a prefilter on the intake tube of my fluval 206 canister filter to keep the little shrimp from being siphoned into the filter. Thanks in advance for any help given.

If you can find a fine pored cylindrical replacement sponges specifically made for sponge filters you should be able to fit that on your filter intake, even if it takes tying up the top (if the hole in the sponge is too large) with fishing line or synthetic yarn so it's flush with the intake and prevents shrimp from climbing in.
