Shrimp Habitat 101

i know its different for each species and how many kept, but what kind of SIMPLE habitat should I set up for like 3-4 freshwaters shrimps? like what tank size, filter, substrate, etc...

As you said, the range of possible answers is vast indeed; 3-4 diminutive cherry shrimp (ideally kept in higher densities) would require a vastly different setup than the same number of two-foot-long adult male Macrobrachium rosenbergii [which might, incidentally, kill each other even in a large tank of several hundred gallons].

I would appreciate it if you were to look through the "Shrimp Varieties" section of this website so as to be able to give a more specific sense of what species (or combinations thereof) you might possess interest in.

Generally speaking... I recommend rocks, and lots of them. It's amazing what a nice arrangement of rocks can do for the looks of a tank (in addition to the shrimp enjoying them). Maybe top them off with a little java (or other) moss here and there. Assuming the animals involved are small enough to move through the space between two rocks where one rock is propped up against the other.
