UPDATE on new tank

Post by Olsonnl »

Update:

My shrimpies are all looking healthy and happy, and I switched them out of the standby tank I had them in back to the one I had always hoped to keep them in. It is 5 liters. All of the lava rock and corals are finds from when I lived on Oahu.

Very nice! :) You can take that string out of the tank if you want. It's only used for shipping and doesn't really provide any benefit to the tank.

Question, I had a jar with a metal twist on lid and a jar with a spring clamp( like the tall one from your photo, in the background) Both of them developed rust. Have you noticed this happening to your metal springs or lids?

I've had a jar like that on my kitchen table for almost 3 years and no rust. Unless there is somehow saltwater getting to it there is no reason for it to develop rust.
