Hi,
I want to know, how many shrimp can fit comfortably in a planted, ten gallon , temperature controlled glass tank, with a light and no fish.
Thanks,
Chris
P.S. I have different species, including large fan shrimp.
How many shrimp will fit in a ten gallon tank?

I would never put an Atyopsis into a ten gallon tank. It will probably hide all the time and you will never see its interesting behaviors. These animals get big and need a lot of space.
The various small Caridina species can be kept in ten gallon tanks, but even there I would start with a small group (about 10 shrimp) and let *them* propagate instead of adding more shrimp. A ten gallon does not give you that many options.

In a ten gallon tank you can fit a lot of shrimp,
But I do agree with the author above that you should start with about 10-15 dwarfshrimps (bee/bumblebee/crystal-reds etc.) and let them sort it out by themselves. Eventually you can introduce some "fresh"blood to the tank to prevent inbreeds but you will be 1.5 or 2 years further then. Many people who breed shrimps have 10 gallon tanks or even smaller ones. These tanks can only be used for dwarfshrimps! Atyopsis or Macrobrachium is no option!
