New home for my shrimp/Need advice

Post by TH8927 »

Hey everyone :smt006 it’s been awhile and I just recently got a new tank for my shrimp a 1.4 gallon pics included. They seem to enjoy it a lot! The water is moving now and not staying stagnate is that good or bad? Also I’m getting 1 dwarf blue hermit crab to add do they get along well together? Thanks I will send pics once the hermit crab comes in.

I'm afraid the crab will prey on the shrimp. Maybe not a Hermit though. However, the crab is a true marine species and requires full strength sea water.

Just my opinions but adding a hermit crab you'll also have to feed it. The goal of an Opae Ula tank is for it to be self sustaining = no feedings. Also water flowing is not a good thing if you want the ideal setting. It's ok but they may not breed.

Agree, or at least very little feeding. TH8927, do you have a source of calcium carbonate in the tank? The large grayish colored stone looks fake. Is it?
