What about those using a Python tho - you can't let the water sit for 10 minutes in that case.

Well I lost the last adult today :( I actually saw her die - she just fell off a plant nose first into the gravel. Poor thing. So I did a major gravel vac and water change tonite - took out about 90% of the water and figured I'd put a betta in there this week. But guess what I found after I finished...

It may have had ich meds in it - I have 2 identical tanks and one had ich meds in it and the other didn't, but I never thought to mark them. There is no silicone - it's an acrylic tank. Does the copper absorb into acrylic as well? I don't want to waste the cycled tank, so if ya'll think that it will...

Should I get more? UPDATE

So I have one adult and one baby left. I am no longer hardly feeding at all, yet I still lost another yesterday. Is the tank contaminated now, even tho I do regular water changes, gravel vacs, etc? Should I get more shrimp or will they just continue to die? I'd like to try again, but I'm not sure.

I honestly don't think so - I got them from a member of this forum.

Yes, from a pet store. It was dry, not out of a tank. A rainbow rock. Here is a pic of it:

I don't think anyone can ask about buying or selling on the forums - not sure where you got that idea. The owner of the board, Mustafa, does sell shrimp and he has a store here on the site - maybe that's what you are refering to. If so, well, it's his site and he can do what he wants!

Another question about shrimp disease & deaths

Do shrimp generally succumb to bacterial disease that fish often suffer from? I am asking because my shrimp are dying (see my other post(s) on the subject) and if I do lose them all then I will probably wait until after the New Year to get more. I am hoping to get a large community tank for Christma...

No, I'm not sure it's from overfeeding - that was the the only explanation that I got tho, from Mustafa. I got the shrimp from someone who breeds them and frequents this forum so I don't think they were sick or too stressed. One did die in transit, but the rest seemed fine and even had some babies (...

Exactly how does overfeeding kill shrimp?

I am just wondering about this. I understand that uneaten food can pollute the water, but exactly how? If the tank is cycled then it's not a matter of ammonia spikes like it would be in an uncycled tank, right. So what exactly is the cause of death in those cases? I lost a female on Monday and was t...

Yuccapatrol - The thing is that this peice came from the same cuttlebone as the other peices. I bought 1 bone last month when I set up the tank, broke a few peices off and put them in the tank, and put the rest of the bone in a zip lock baggie. I then broke another peice off that same bone last week...

But it was black! You're telling me that's how it should look? When I took it out it left ash-type marks on me. And it smelled horrible.
