did u have a heater on?
i know my tank in my office here use to flucuate alot in the lower temperatures..
i got a very small heater (hydor) and this helped to stabalize it and now it only fluctuate a few degrees when i turn the lamp on or off.

what is the reason for this? was the algae toxic? >.<
the water from the pitcher had been sitting there for weeks...
i just picked up the rocks with chopsticks. there was very minimal water with it..
i feel so bad.... i only have one now... sigh.

can shrimp eat so much they die?
Can red cherry shrimp eat so much they will die? and if they do so, how fast do they die? and are there any tell tale signs i could look for? i was dropping algae covered rocks into their tank, from my bamboo that was growing in a pitcher of water in the kitchen.. 2 of them died within about 3 days ...

is it ok to have the sponge filter as the ONLY filter?
Hey people! :) Just wondering if i had a sponge filter in my tank, would that be adequate aeration and filter goodness for around 8 or shrimp in a 2 gallon bubble wall tank? I know alot of you guys have both a sponge filter to provide food, AND another filter. But the shape of my bowl wont allow it,...
