They might still be around, its that you just can't see them. They can hide really good if they want good. When I first started keeping shrimp I had the same concern but soon realized that whatever number of shrimp I can see they are probably 3 or 4 times as many hiding around the tank somewhere. I ...

Wood shrimp with algae on it
I just saw one of my wood shrimp for the first time in about 2 weeks. And I noticed he had algae growing on him. Is this common or bad for the little guy?

Can anyone identify what type of shrimp this is. I received a bunch of shrimp and a few of these came in with the rest.

I keep my nitrates at about 20ppm and my PO4 at about 2-3ppm Heavily planted tanks with CO2 injection. And I have not noticed any negative effectes on the Cherry,Tiger or Bumblee Bee shrimp. I wonder since this an inorganic form of Nitrate then it might not affect them the same way as Organic Nitrat...
