Since this topic being raised, I will be away for a month. Is there a way I can make it such that I can leave it alone? My family leave my tanks alone and want no part with them =(

Mustafa, I do agree with what you said but the co2 has been in place for 2.5 months and the shrimps were all fine in that condition. That's where I am so frustrated - I did nothing out of ordinary. I feed them the same amount and same food, water condition is kept about the same through months. Popu...

URGENT - HELP: Shrimps are dying one by one

Hi all, I have a shrimp only tank (10 gallons) with tigers. Have been up for 5 months. I started with a dozen and now I have about 50ish of them. About a week ago, I found a dead shrimp and on and off I have a dozen dead ones up to date. I have no clue why this is happening. I didn't introduce anyth...

Hiya Mike! Thanks for the reply. I'll send my bf the info. He's quite keen on trying the shrimp thing and then eventually adding discus. How're your cherry shrimp doing? Mine have grown about 3 times the size since I got them and 3 are definitely a pretty red now with golden yellow saddle areas. I ...

It is all depends on the personality of the discus. Discus like others such as angels may/will eat shrimps; however, I saw discus that showed no interest even shrimps swam right across its mouth.

It is dangerous, don't do it. I didn't see it myself but I have been told. Apisto can swallow an adult tiger shrimp (well, not quite, with the tail sticking out of the mouth) with one bite.

I don't think it is a good idea but you can try

I don't know if this is bad but I just vaccum it carefully. If they ain't run fast enough, you can always pick them up from the bucket where the water goes. It may cost more time to look for the shrimps (got sucked out) but so far I have never found more than 5 babies got sucked out (they are all fi...

I got both =( unfortunately. However, their populations are under control.

I wonder if anyone has any way to remove these buggers completely without tearing down the tank ... etc?

Yes, BC Canada water is absolutely soft. KH is 0 or 1. I bring the kh up to 3.4 so I can add co2 into the tank for the moss to grow better. I don't know what else I added to cause the drop of eggs. I have them with my tigers and they're doing great and having babies. I don't know it matters but I go...

Optimal conditions for cherrys

Hi to all cherrys keepers. I wonder what water conditions and temperature are you keeping the cherrys that makes them the most happy shrimps around (colour up, being active, and breeding)? I have them in 78F (summer boasts it up to 79~81F), PH 7.2~7.4, KH 3.4, Nitrate is around 2~7 ppm. And I found ...

Thank you for the confirmation. Now I can put them in with the cherrys, relax, and enjoy.

Thank you Mustafa.
