Green hair algea

]Hi guys, I have had my set up for about 7 months now, its a 90 litre tank so a decent size for these. Anyway I added a small inch size of microalgae to tank when I purchased my shrimp. Have about 40 shrimp and no signs of breeding yet. Microalgae is now a considerable size, several inches. My quest...

Re: MTS at water surface

Put 20 shrimp in today so tiny as think they are babies, lost in this 20 gal. But can see shrimp swimming near surface like MTS, I'm hoping there just chomping on all the biofilm.

MTS at water surface

Bit worried about my set up. No shrimp yet. But all MTS are near water surface. Their is a bacteria bloom in a straight line about 4" below surface, not throughout tank, just in a straight line layer. I am thinking that maybe tank has too much of the bacteria that takes out all the oxygen. But ...

Waste produced

So I've read and taken in how to set up a home for these guys, but been chatting to several UK keepers who say they need a heater and have a sponge filter. One guy has a 10 year colony with over 1000 shrimp in. He has a small sponge filter set on low with very few bubbles. My question is if you have...

New set up

I've just emptied a big 350 trigon jewel today. In my fx4 filter is lots of ceramic rings etc.. Would it be beneficial to a new set up food these shrimps if I dropped a few into new set up or even squeeze old filter sponge into new water. Or would this be too much. Thanks for any advice

Stagnant water

Hi brand new here, not got a set up yet, but very interested. First question is if I never need to do a water change apart from top ups. Won't the water go stagnant without a filter. Ty
