To LeShrimp... This is a photo I found online of a Metabetaeus (Opae Ula predatory shrimp) and an Opae Ula. Notice the differences.

I've found several Opae Ula shrimplets swimming around the tank this morning. They're very small, and very quick, difficult to keep an eye on, but I managed to get a few pictures...

As seen with the naked eye. It's the pink blur in the center of this picture.

Excellent pictures!!! Thanks for sharing. I had my first berried shrimp about a week ago. I would see her everyday but now I have searched for the last few days and can't seem to find her. I don't see any larvae in the tank. Could the eggs just drop off with out any hatching?

Nice larvae pictures rob. That cell phone with macro takes great pictures. Good detail on the larvae close up.

Thanks Jill and Ken...

I've heard that a berried female will drop her eggs on occasion. If this has happened, fear not, someone will berry again soon.

I have a lot of hiding spots in my tanks, is easy to lose that one shrimp I'm looking for, then when I don't have the camera in hand it'll show. up. :)

PS. I found this opae and her "sister" berried on January 14th. Took just under 5 weeks for the eggs to hatch and the larvae to let go.

I had been thinking that Mother Opae Ula had finished giving birth until I found her a little while ago:

Later this evening after "lights out". I put a pen light flashlight in the right back corner of the tank and waited. This showed up: An Opae Ula shrimplet with his buddy, a cyclop:

Once again amazing pictures and with a cell phone no less. You might have mentioned this earlier but how many shrimp are in the tank you're getting these great pictures from?
