Macrobrachium are predators, so... yes, the Neon probably was dead - the shrimp killed it before it started to eat it.

Hi Jackie,
Oh, I didn't know shrimp may kill neon tetra.
My tigers and cherries don't kill my fish, they just eat dead fish (fish died naturally).

Thanks for the picture Jacky. My alpha male is also developing a reddish tail by the way. I am curious what it will look like when it is fully grown and assumes fully dominant coloration.
