Re: Update on my shrimp

It should be easy to keep under control, just make sure that when you add water (not change water) that you use RO only. Use your normal ratio of well to RO water that you normally use when you do a water change. Good advice and worth reading again. It is much easier to keep track of her in the sma...

Re: BT Deaths...

Ah...so much yet left to lean...but enjoying the challenge and education, Bill Hi Bill, I have bee following this thread and find it hard to hear about your losses. It can be difficult to know weather it was due to a major factor such as the illness or something simpler like a peeny or hand lotion ...

Re: What to do? - Just my luck

I hope it works out for you. You need to make a choice between the shrimp or fish and I think you are choosing the shrimp.
I counted 9 yesterday, and added quite a bit more java moss.
Moss is a very protective and nuturing plant for babies in my experience :-D

Re: What to do? - Just my luck

Maybe it has something to do with the water parameters and the shrimp are happier in that Guppy tank? That's what it is. but a lot of the young may end up as dinner. You will have little if any growth as long as the fish are there to feed on the babies. You can also opt to set up a new tank for the...

Re: in berry with no male?

Since I have anywhere from 1000 to 100,000 shrimp at any given time, a small number do have issues molting, like lost limbs. I also find, on average, six deaths per month.
That is alot of shrimp :o Do you have many tanks or large tanks to house these shrimp?

Re: Yellow Shrimp offspring all female.

Are there alot of young/juvenile shrimp in the tank? Has it only been a couple of days since you moved them to the new tank? Two of the things you will see suppress breeding/reproduction is lack of resources in a crowded shrimp population and changed/unfavorable environmental conditions. I hope the ...

Hi Alex, thanks for sharing the pictures again. The new scape has opened up the tank visually and it seems much more roomy. I see the shrimp out in the open, how are the fish behaving towards the shrimp? Have you seen any aggressive behaviors?

How is the growth rate with the young. Is it similar to a Cherry shrimp or closer to the slower Crystal Red shrimp?

Re: alder cones

The best way to better find out is to have a couple of groups. One that gets the Geo Liquid and a Control group the doesn't get it. It takes some planning and resources but if you do try it please let us know the results.
