I'm not planning on getting any right now, I do not have room for another decent sized tank yet. Eventually I would like to try my hand at them though!

Like Mustafa suggested, however, I will try to find a warmer temp type to keep because a chiller is to expensive for me right now.

He he he, you thank that is bad? The wallpaper on my work is a smiley face holding a sniper rifle. Instead of just having the one little picture in the center, I had it tiled so there must be 500 of them on my wallpaper!!!! It keeps people from trying to get on my profile. :)

What is your maintenance schedule for your 1 gallon? I have been thinking about doing a small 2.5 gallon shrimp tank.

Thanks

If you can, carefully put the momma shrimp in a tank by herself or, ideally, take all the inhabitants out of her tank and put THEM in another tank.

Once all the eggs hatch, remove momma and put her somewhere else and leave the Larva in the tank all by themselves. You will have to feed them very ...

Ghosties hatched

I came home yesterday and found my mamma shrimp had no eggs! I looked closer and I saw a bunch of tiny shrimp larvae seemingly stuck to the glass. I really had to look! But I found them, then when I came back after taking care of my other fish, I did not see any at all.

Aside from the larvae ...

I have read elsewhere on this site that the wild type guppys would be ok for shrimp, but I am not sure if that goes for baby shrimp or not.

If you use anykind of chemical, pesticide, paint, window cleaner etc... you should cover up your tank with something airtight. If you are going to have the ...

I have read that some security guards will make you throw away fish, even though the airline people tell them it is ok.

The fish owner managed to go to the bathroom, pretend she dumped out the water, which she really just transferred to a container and put in her purse, and got through a different ...

I tested my params earlier and the were all good to go. Ammo 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 5, PH 7.4. She must be a young one, I dont think she is full grown.

I moved the pregnant ghostie, the one that has oodles of eggs, to my fry tank today. I will move out the fry in about 2 weeks as long as she still ...

Does the female get rid of unfertilized eggs? I noticed a second ghostie had some eggs yesterday, and today she only has 3.

Is there anyway to tell the difference between a fertilized and unfertilized egg?

Thanks

I guess I am doing something right

One of my ghosties is full of eggs! But I am not sure what to do in order to save some of the babies.

She is in a community shrimp/fish setup, and the plants have not yet grown enought to provide a whole lot of cover.

Can I safly move her to my cycled 5 gallon fry tank? I would move the fry (guppy ...

Just curious

How did you guys get to know so much about shrimp? Is there a college class, or is it just experience?

Different kinds of ghosties.

I have learned so much about shrimp from you guys already!! But I still am less than an amateur.

Here is another, possible funny, question. I bought some ghosties, and put some in my main tank, and 1 in my fry tank. With all the problems I have been reading about, I was wondering if they are all ...
