Thanks Mustafa, those were exactly what I was referring to.

If I use them as a substrate about 5 layers deep, is it possible for shrimps to go deep inside and never be able to find their way out again? Or do they have a natural ability to find their way out when they want to?

Has anyone ever tried having a thick layer of ceremic rings as substrate in a shrimp and moss tank? Will shrimps get lost inside?
