They will play nice, but I don't think the bamboo shrimp would be happy in such a small tank and a tank so new. Bamboo shrimp require large areas with a lot of water movement to be happy. They also require an established tank with a lot of particulate matter floating in the water column as food. The...

I saw the same shrimp (labled marble shrimp) for $12.99. That is a high price tag. Other chains have them for half that price. Also, they only sell females as far as I can tell.

They MOST LIKLEY will not cross breed. I dont have green shrimp so I cant say 100% that they will not, but I am about 98% sure they will not!

The "Strange Powder" is mostly calcium carbonate. It is not needed in many tanks in the US, and could be harmfull. The "source of micro-orginisims" is a powder based food ment to feed micro-orginisims and increase their numbers greatly. The shrimp then feed on these micro-orginis...

I hardly ever see molts in my tanks either. The molted exoskeleton of shrimp is very high in calcium and the shrimp naturally crave that, so the eat the molt! Another reason it is hard to see molts is that they tend to do it while hiding. After molting shrimp are soft and easy to kill, so they tend ...

In reply to the shrimp portion: I still disagree with you about how "rare" the shrimp are. When I say I know 20 people, that means I personally know them, not know of them. When I think of something that is rare I think more of something like the newer strain of Blue Dwarf Crayfish. I don'...

Mustafa, CRS are not as rare in the US as you seem to think they are. I personally know of 10 or more sources and 20 or more private owners. The only reason I say sadly is because if you ask what grade it is, it is obvious that you care what grade it is. Now, on the other hand, I am a bigger fan of ...

Grading has to do with both the white bands and the dark bands. In general, the more white the higher the grade! But, the dark bands have to be dark as well!

I use ADA Aquasoil in all my BEE and CRS tanks. It does bring the ph down to low sixes and sometimes lower! I would say that is what is causing the swings!

Baby Bee Pics

Well, the baby bee shrimp are about 2 weeks old. I spent a little time with my crappy camera and my shrimp and here are a few pics for everybody! First is a "wild type" VERY low grade C http://members.aol.com/itsdanimback/bee01.jpg Next we have a c+/b- baby (will grow to be a C+/C I believ...

Bee shrimp are breeding fast

Well, I finally got my bee shrimp to reproduce and they are starting to do so rapidly. Here are the key tank parameters: pH: 6.5-6.8 temp: 75 And here is a pic of one of the babies eating on the sponge filter: http://members.aol.com/itsdanimback/babybee2.jpg And a close up http://members.aol.com/its...
