Hey, I have some amano shrimps in my tank and as I was feeding my discus beefheart, I just tried it as an experiment to see if shrimps like it too. Once i put some in the water, OMG, every shrimp literally swam through everything just to eat the beefheart. Even when it was floating in the water. Dow...

After some thorough researching through many sites and looking at those "flower shrimps", I am seeing more signs of similar pattern and coloration on the shrimps to the pictures of Atyopsis moluccensis (which are Singapore Wood Shrimp aka Flower Shrimp). =) I now have 2 of these fellas and...

That is very interesting to hear. I am planning to also get some java moss and if that occurs frequently, I will reconsider about java moss. I initially thought that it would be the perfect hideout for baby shrimps.
So sorry that my reply doesnt really help you much =( but I was just concerned.

Flower shrimp? Asian Filter Shrimp?

Hi, I saw a tank full of "flower shrimp" at Big Als today and i wondered if it was the same as an "asian filter shrimp". I've read that it is kidna brown when you buy it from the store, which is correct right now, but I have my eyes on the more active ones. However, the more acti...

It died in a week? Wow. I guess I wont be getting them as well since I read that there are no naturally blue shrimps anymore (I think i read it from the species description). I want to try to avoid artifical things in my tank =).

Shrimps with plecos?

Hi. would it be wise to keep some shrimps liek RCS and amano with a king tiger pleco?? Here is a link to kingtiger pleco. RO water good/bad?

Is RO (reverse osmosis) water good for shrimps or is it bad?!?! Right now for my current tanks, I have been using water that passes through one of those RO filtering systems where it blocks off a lot of minerals including chlorine. It is seperated into normal water (about 190 ppm) and soft water (ab...

what to feed baby shrimps?

I know there must be a lot hiding spaces for baby shrimps.. so i was considering java moss as it is almost like a net where the shrimps can hide inside it.

If there are successful babies that I see.. I was wondering what you feed those little fellas?

thx

Fertilized eggs?

Hi. I have had ghost shrimp before and I always see them with green eggs in their body.. but i have always wondered if they are fertilized or not?

Since crayfish has sex to show that there is some sort of fertilization occuring, do shrimps do the same thing as crayfish?

Thx
