Best prob to do 10% or so like 3 times a week although i just do 30-40% every week or so with no problems. It wont affect the bacteria growth really as long as your filter has been runnning for a long time and has bacteria growth or if you use a sponge filter that is well aged then it also wont be a...

It should work but wont it get annoying after a while having to always buy these big cases of water when you want to do water changes? i guess as long as everything in the tank is happy it should be fine. I know R/O water is safe only thing that might be a problem in the long run (although not yet p...

I only use seachem prime for my 30% water changes. I take out the amount of water i want than use 70% tap water which i add seachem prime to that then pour into my tank than fill the rest with R/O water no problems no need for aging the water and all that hassle.

Their life span will be much shorter..i did the mistake by introducing my crs into my tank with cherries that had PH of 7.5+ the cherries do fine and breed i go...

My R/O PH is 6.5 my dad when he did water changes on his discus tanks a long time ago he said he used a mix or tap and R/O and did about 50% or so
and the PH would drop down to 6 and lower sometimes the lowest it can almost go at times over a couple months.

Ya thats true i agree with you on that. I think i will use my 10 gal setup later on in the future for RCS and my 25 gal setup for CRS. But i plan to rescape my 25 gal later on so i will have to move my RCS to the 10 gal anyways. Then once my 25 gal is setup and PH is lower than i will add some CRS. ...

alright thanks for the help, do you let the water age over night with a airstone? or do you simply take the amount of water from your tap that you need to refill your tank then add the amount of prime you need for the water which you replaced?
