These rocks are safe, rinsed, and ready to go into your tank! Red lava rock looks great in Supershrimp tanks and provides lots of surface area for beneficial microorganisms and algae to grow. These help keep the water clean and provide food for your shrimp. Use the drop down menu above to pick the size you like. All items are hand-picked and unique. We offer four different sizes: large, medium, small, and handful. See picture for approximate sizes. The lava rocks in the picture are ordered by size from left to right. The pile of rocks in the front is a “handful.” One rock is placed outside the pile to show approximate size of each individual rock in the pile. “Handful” is literally a small handful of 10-12 lava rocks that range in size from 3/4 inch to about 1.5 inches. They are great for piling up in a corner or center of your tank for the shrimp to enjoy the nooks and crannies.
Keep in mind that the pictures were taken when the rocks were wet to give you an idea what the rocks will look like under water. When the rocks arrive they may be dry and the red not as deep as when wet. That’s normal and the rocks will look exactly as pictured when exposed to water.
